How to post a listing on Tratilo

A detailed guide. Posting is free and takes about five minutes.

Step 1. Create an account and confirm your email

1. Click "Create account" at the top right. Enter your name, email, a password (at least 8 characters) and a phone number. You can also sign in with Google.
2. If a human check appears, wait for the green "Success" mark and carry on.
3. Open the email from Tratilo and click the confirmation link. You can't publish without a confirmed email, but you can save drafts. No email? Check your spam folder and use the resend button in the notice at the top of the site.

Step 2. Choose a category

1. Click "Post a listing" (in the header or in "My profile").
2. Pick the category step by step, for example "Vehicles", then "Cars". The form opens when you reach the last level.
3. Picked the wrong one? Use "Change category" or the breadcrumbs at the top of the form.

Step 3. Fill in the form

• Title: short and specific, 3 to 90 characters. Good: "Toyota Hilux 2018, diesel, 90,000 km". Bad: "Urgent!!! Cheap".
• Price and currency: guaraníes (Gs.) or US dollars. In "Jobs" and "Services" the price is optional.
• City: start typing and pick it from the list. A city that isn't in the list can't be entered.
• Condition: new or used.
• Category details: for example brand and model. Choose the brand first, then its models appear. Not in the list? Choose "Otro (escribir)" and type the name: an admin will add it to the catalog.
• Description: condition, what is included, reason for selling, how to collect it. More detail builds trust and brings more replies.
• Quantity, address or area: optional.
• Exact location (optional): paste coordinates (for example -25.2867, -57.6470) or a long Google Maps link. Short maps.app.goo.gl links won't work: open it in your browser and copy the full address. "Show only an approximate area" hides the exact spot on the map.
• "Show my phone number in the listing": if you untick it, people can reach you only through site messages.

Step 4. Add photos

1. In the "Photos" block click the upload area and choose pictures. On a phone you can take a photo with the camera.
2. You can add up to 10 photos in JPG, PNG, WebP or HEIC (iPhone). Large pictures are shrunk automatically in your browser, so uploading is fast and uses little data.
3. Thumbnails appear under the field. To remove a picture, click the cross on its corner. You can add photos in several rounds.
4. The first photo becomes the cover in lists. Shoot in daylight, from several angles, without other people's faces or plates.
5. If a photo won't upload: check the format (iPhone HEIC pictures are better saved as JPG, or set the camera to "Most Compatible") and make sure the file isn't damaged.

Step 5. Publish or save a draft

• "Post listing" publishes it. If a human check is shown, wait for "Success" before pressing the button.
• "Save draft" saves the form without publishing. Continue later in "My profile" under "All" (status "Draft").
• The listing becomes "Active" right away. If your account is on manual moderation, it gets the status "In review" and an admin will approve or reject it, giving a reason.

Step 6. Manage your listings

All your listings are in "My profile", split into tabs by status. You can:

• Edit: change the text or price, add or remove photos. Editing a listing on manual moderation sends it for review again.
• Pause / Resume: hide it temporarily and bring it back to search.
• Finish (sold): the listing leaves search. Publish it again with "Volver a publicar".
• Duplicate: creates a draft copy, handy for similar items.
• Delete: removes the listing and its photos for good.
• After 30 days we remind you to check it. Press "Sigue vigente" if it's still current, otherwise it is archived automatically after about 60 days.

Step 7. Talk to buyers

• Buyers write to you from the listing. Replies appear in "Messages", and you get an email notice if it's enabled in your profile.
• Meet in a busy public place. Don't ship before you've been paid and don't open suspicious links. More in "Safety tips".
• After a deal, mark it as done in the conversation: the buyer can leave a review that affects your rating.

Rules and common questions

• Illegal, stolen, counterfeit or dangerous goods and duplicate listings are not allowed. Full list in the terms of use.
• You can publish up to 20 listings per hour: this protects against spam.
• "Listing rejected": open it in "My profile", read the reason, fix it and send it again.
• Confirmation email didn't arrive: check spam and request it again.
